i inadvertently kept STONE for 1A STOIC for too long. imagine the 'doh!' moment i had when near the very end of my solving i realized that 4D CANCEL doesn't start with an 'E'! it was only then that i even glanced at the gimme clue for 4D IDI...
the cross at 36A ERTE and 27D TETRA left me empty for too long.
the rest was straight-forward enough.
i'm glad 24A RENEE zellweger (born renée kathleen zellwegwer), peter 44D YARROW (born peter yarrow!), 41D TINA sinatra (born christina sinatra... hey... what's going on here?), and casey 29D KASEM (born kemal amin kasem... well, now that's more woth the diggin'!) all dropped in for a short visit today!keep on keepin' on...
